Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: October 1, 2025

Welcome to Leah's Mandarin! Glad to have you here. By enrolling in and participating in our classes, you agree to these terms. Please take a moment to read them carefully to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. 


1-on-1 Private Class

Single Lesson Rate: $65/hour/student 

Discounted prepaid packages:  

5-hour package:  $310 Total, 3-month validity.

10-hour package:  $580 Total, 6-month validity.

15-hour package:  $810 Total, 9-month validity.


24+ Hours Notice (Cancellation or Rescheduling): Please provide written notification (via email) at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule a class.

Less Than 24 Hours Notice (Cancellation): Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will result in a full charge for the scheduled lesson for that week. Alternatively, you may reschedule the lesson to an available time slot within the same calendar week to avoid the charge.

Less Than 24 Hours Notice (Rescheduling): If you request to reschedule a class with less than 24 hours notice, the teacher will make every effort to accommodate your preferred time slot on the same day, but availability cannot be guaranteed. You are welcome to reschedule the class to any available time slot within the same calendar week.

No-Shows: A no-show without any prior notification will result in a full charge for the missed lesson. We understand that unforeseen emergencies occasionally occur; in such cases, please contact us directly to discuss a potential exception.




Refund Policy:

Full Refund (24 hours or more). A full refund will be issued if a written cancellation notification is received 24 hours or more before the scheduled start time of any new class.

No Refund (less than 24 hours). No refund will be issued if the cancellation notification is received less than 24 hours before the new class begins.

No Refund (class started). If the class has already started, no refund will be issued. However, you may use the lesson package within its validity period. 

Credit Policy:

Credit for Extended Circumstances. If you encounter unexpected circumstances that prevent you from continuing your studies, and these circumstances are expected to last longer than the lesson package validity period, you may request a credit. The credit will be valid for one year, starting from the day when you formally pause your study, allowing you to resume the course at a later date within that one-year period.  



Small Group Class

Rate: $264 total/student | 8-week prepaid package | 1.5 hours/week 


Attendance is highly appreciated. 

One 45-min make up lesson for each prepaid 8-week package is provided, free of charge. If you want to take the free make-up lesson, please schedule it with the teacher. 

Note: Please prepare in advance before the make-up lesson for the best result of it. 
 

If all students in a group class agree to cancel or reschedule a regular lesson, please notify the teacher 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE.  

If an individual student is unable to attend a lesson, the lesson will continue as normal. 

If there is only one student left in a group class, that group class will have to be canceled. Students in this situation may transfer to another class of the same level, or get a refund. 

 

Refund Policy:

Full Refund (48 hours or more):  A full refund will be issued if a written cancellation notification is received 48 hours or more before the scheduled start time of any new group class. 

No Refund (less than 48 hours): No refund will be issued if the cancellation notification is received less than 48 hours before the new group class begins. 

No Refund (class started): If the class has already started, no refund will be issued. 

Credit Policy:

If you need to pause your study in a group class for any reason, we can offer a credit for all unattended sessions remaining in your course. This credit is valid for one year starting from the date you pause the class. 

You may apply this credit to resume your study in any group class of the same level within that one-year period. 

If you miss all 8 sessions of a course, you will be able to use your credit to join any new group class of your level within that one-year period. 



Miscellaneous

We collect your name, email address and phone number for communication and administrative purposes. We use this information to manage your enrollment and provide class updates. We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.


In the event of an emergency or unexpected interruption (e.g. power outage), the instructor will communicate a plan for rescheduling or continuing the session as soon as possible. 


To respect the privacy and intellectual property of all participants, recording, reproducing, distributing, or selling any part of the classes without prior written consent from all participants is strictly prohibited. You may use the class content for personal educational purposes only. Unauthorized distribution is prohibited. 


All classes are listed in Pacific Time (or Los Angeles Time). Please adjust accordingly if you live in a different time zone. 


We may update these terms from time to time. All changes will be notified to the relevant parties with an updated effective date. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
